What inspired you to start creating music?
Just by seeing all my idols do their thing and watching them grow as artists. Nobody in my family is musically talented so I had to teach myself how to write songs and the rest was history.
Do you remember the first song you wrote and do you remember what it was about?
Yes. It was about me moving from one state to another, trying to find myself as a rapper and figuring out what I want in life. Setting my goals at an early age. Growing from a boy to a man coming from the city of Chicago.
If you could collaborate with anyone in the world who would it be and why?
It would have to be Drake hands down. One of my favorite artists in the world. He inspires me everyday. Since the beginning he inspired me to become of the greats.
Can you tell me about how you come up with your lyrics?
Whatever I go through, I just pour it all in the lyrics. I’m sure that’s how most artists feel. Just feel the need to express whatever they’re going through at that moment in life. It’s the best feeling getting it off your chest.
Do you ever get writer's block and how do you get around that?
Sometimes. I just get around it by focusing a little bit more and just get my point across so I can get out of my head to write again.
What’s the best advice that you were ever given?:
“It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it.” My mom always told me to be myself and the rest of the world will follow.
What 3 songs do you listen to when you’re relaxing from your day to day?
That’s a hard question but for now I would have to go with:
"TSU" by Drake
"Late Night Messages" by Wiz Khalifa
"Side Piece" by Jack Harlow.
