Star Bound Bars: A Sit Down With Tdjg Xlone

Updated: Jan 6, 2023

What made you to start writing music?

A combination of a lot of things but mostly just in the last 3 years has been the hardest on me as a person and I used music to help me get thru. I have a friend that was recently departed that I showed him some riffs and told him that I wanted to do with them and he said yeah you really need to do this. Also another local artist got me into the studio on a song with him and after that it was kind of like I was hooked and I knew that that is what I wanted to do. I started out writing poems in Middle School and over time it's evolved in my 9th and 10th grade years I started writing music, not great but it was music, and then I started writing music with beats and over time it gradually got better and my flow got better.

Can you tell me about how you come up with your lyrics?

I sit and listen to beats or sometimes I just sit and wait as it slowly comes to me. Sometimes it's all at once sometimes it's over time I believe that writing different days gives you different perspectives. I've had some come to me quickly and some that have taken some time and regardless of the process it's all something I feel like I need to say

What artist inspires you to create music?

I have multiple different artists and genres that inspire me in different areas in different ways but my top five are Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, MF Doom, and juice wrld. I was raised on different styles of music

What is your favorite part about making music?

my favorite part about making music is helping people and I know that music can spread love I live for that one person that one day may hear my message and that something I say change their life I love the thought of making them feel better when they're down or need that extra boost. And for anybody reading this right now if you don't feel loved or understood please know that I love you

What’s the best advice that you were ever given?:

some of the best advice I remember being given was from a teacher that told me once there are too many people in this world that are fake or all alike so be the difference and be yourself

What are the top 3 most played songs on your phone right now?

my top three songs are Big Rich Town by 50 cent feel alone by juice wrld official talk of the streets freestyle with j-star balla and DD Osama
